Once again, on behalf of the Oyster Stamp design team, I would just like to say a very big thank you to everyone that has left comments and followed the hop, so good luck to everyone x

So here goes,

My first tag, shabby chic style

mail box tag

As always, I have made my tag from Mountboard as I find this gives a bit of extra strength. The tag measures 8 x 3 5/8  (204mm X 93mm).

I have used heartfelt Creations raindrops on roses papers for my background and distressed the edges with seedless preserve and peeled paint, and have also used the   ‘Dream’ ticket

mail box top

The Mailbox is a new metal embellishment that has recently arrived at Oyster Stamps, made by Shabby Chic Treasures, using the ‘love’ sentiment from the paper pad I have made a template for the little mail sign, glued it in place and covered it with glossy accents.

mail box bottom

The flowers are heartfelt Creations Christmas poinsettia distressed with Victorian velvet and seedless preserve, and for the leaves I have used peeled paint and frayed burlap, and added a wink of stella in clear, I then added a few gems.

I have finished off with some raffia and a bead from my own stash.

My second Tag measures 6 1/2″  x  4″, I have recently been using the Heartfelt Creations  ‘All geared up’ collection, I have really enjoyed this one so I thought I would try it as a tag.

I started off with a white Mountboard tag and stamped the Cogs & Gears background stamp with versa mark, then used Burgundy red embossing powder and distressed over this with rusty hinge and Pine needles distress inks.

Using the Cogs and Gears dies I have cut links, flowers and cogs, distressed them with rusty hinge and pine needles, then added metallic lustre over the top. Added some torn paper from the paper pad in the collection and distressed it with the same colours, layered one piece over the cogs and used the other piece to mount the sentiment, also from the collection. Placed the links top and bottom and finished off with some garden string and a bead.

and finally, as Christmas is fast approaching, I just had to!

This tag is 5 3/4 x 4″

The backing paper is from Heartfelt Creations ‘ Once upon a time ‘ and has been distressed with Aged Mahogany and Frayed Burlap.

For the candles I would have liked to of used the memory box die – Shining Candles. Unfortunately, I didn’t have time to get this in, so I have used an old embossing folder.  I then cut them out, covered the wax part with glossy accents and then onto the flames. I distressed these using Gathered Twigs and also covered them with glossy accents.

The flowers are again from Heartfelt Creations Christmas Poinsettia, I have used red velum and gold embossing powder,

The leaves are from Heartfelt Creations open leaf pre cut set, I have cut these from parchment paper and used gold embossing powder.

To finish, I have added some adhesive pearls by Scrapberrys, some ribbon and a bead.

  2. Morning Kerry, wow these are gorgeous, I love them both but I think the first one is my favourite, I love the post with the love plaque hanging down that you have made and the mailbox, think I had better check these out next time I am in the shop.

You have settled in really well in the design team and it is wonderful to see all your brilliant creations.

What is so nice is that everyone of the design team brings a different element and variation to us crafters, how lucky are we.

Have a great Friday everyone, keep safe, healthy and happy, hugs June Smith xxx

  3. Hello Kerry
Three beautiful tags. I love heartfelt creations papers and dies so these are just my style. The flowers in your first and third dies are so different – just goes to show how different papers and the addition of embossing powders transform things! Best wishes, Anne O

  9. These are all lovely and the Heartfelt Creations Poinsettia works beautifully as an ordinary flower too which makes it so versatile. The gears and cogs work well on the second, and I love the red with that blue paper across the middle, and then the Poinsettia and candles on the third with the Christmas theme is gorgeous too. The vellum and parchment with the gold embossing give it a really rich look. x
