This is my Finnabair inspired canvas. I love this style and enjoyed putting this collage together and making it a functional clock. Each time you look at it, you seem to spot a different item that you never noticed before.

I liked the idea of having my numbers spread randomly through the collage, this is one corner.

Stage 1:

 I added the clock works, taking my brick work stencil, I added some Finnabair art Extra Vagance texture paste in white sand, and my home-made textured paste through some plasterer’s jointing tape.

stage 2:

This is where I added some more texture and embellishments, some of which I made from plaster of paris and UTEE using the melt pot.

Stage 3:

Once I was happy with my layout it was time to Gesso it.

stage 4:

I chose Tangerine Dream and Chopped Pesto Dylusions, I did like this colour but it didn’t stay this way!

stage 5:

I then added some more Dylusions in Campso Teal and Pomegranate Seed.

Stage 6:

Once I was happy with my finished collage, I added some Prima Color Bloom  Spray mist in Gold foil, some glass glitter and Gilding wax.

To finish off I sprayed the whole canvas in Mod Podge Gloss spray sealer, fitted the clock hands and battery.
