Scrapbook Picture

Standard

Hi everyone

Here is my second post for today, this is the present I made for my dad for Fathers day today.

I added the tag and some cogs, in keeping with the theme.

present

This is my first scrapbook layout, I have to say it was inspired by Sue, but it is very similar to a layout on a canvas, which is probably why I enjoyed making it so much.

Originally I was going to make it as a scrapbook, but then as it took shape I decided to put it into a frame, and give it to my dad for fathers day.

I used a pine frame from the Range about £5 or £6

I couldn’t just leave it plain lol

so I painted and distressed it, and finished it off with some gold leaf and varnish, which you will see at the end.

This is part of the layout, I used techniques by Andy Skinner to age the cogs

And a picture of my dad, as a boy from the 1940’s

I have actually made a pair but the other one is not quite ready yet

The finished product, for my dad’s office

Dad loved it I’m pleased to say,

and my mum liked it so much it’s been promoted to the lounge lol

Thanks for looking in today

For my Dad

Standard

Hello visitors

As it is Fathers Day today, I am sharing with you the card that I made for my dad.

Although it is pretty basic I just love to make the paper cogs look old and giving them some texture.

I mat and layered the brown paper and green card onto a white card.

I cut the cogs from black card and used the left over piece in the top corner.

To give the cogs texture I used art Extravagance graphite paste ( I love this stuff) ! Once dried, I lightly rubbed over some wax to give it a rusted look and glued them into place.

The pocket watch I cut out and covered with some glossy accents, I added some cardboard letters ‘dad’ and a Happy Fathers Day sentiment that I printed onto patterned paper.

I found an old watch and the metal rim was a perfect fit for it.
