Place Names

Standard

Hi new visitors and friends

My friend Barbara went to a family wedding and the place names were cut from wood, they look so lovely, and she asked me if I could make her something with them.

So this is what I made for her….hope she likes it lol x

I used a sheet of blue card and cut it to size for this it was 8cm x 8cm, and the white card 7cm x 7cm

And framed it all in an 8 x 8 box frame

Using Heartfelt creations delicate aster flowers stamp and die.

I coloured them with chipped sapphire and broken china distress inks and used a ball tool to shape, for the leaves I used forest moss and peeled paint and shaped them also.

I then glued them together and when I was happy with the shape I coated them with a layer of varnish, for the centre of the flowers I used glossy accents and sprinkled some black flower soft in the centre, then adhered them to the card using silicone glue.

I arranged them on the card until I was happy with the layout and glued in place the wooden names and little pearls.

Thanks for popping in

Happy Crafting

xx

Game of Thrones Tribute

Standard

Hello friends and new Visitors

Game of Thrones came back to our screens last week, one of my most favourite shows I absolutely love it, and to welcome it back I have made this Mannequin. It has been sitting in the cupboard for a year now, just waiting for the return of this program I think haha.

When I first bought her I had in mind a nice Vintage and pink theme, and when she started out she wasn’t really heading in that direction…..so she was drawn to the dark side ( my favourite side to work on after all ) lol

This her in her raw state, she is a paper mache figure, and you can see how she started, I cut strips of paper and made pleats for the skirt, but it just wasn’t working for me, we all make mistakes and I don’t mind sharing mine with you haha, we’re all here to have fun and learn along the way…

I wasn’t happy…. so out came the textured paste and black gesso, and together we went to the dark side.

Firstly, I extended the arms with some drawer knobs, then used white gesso to paint her, rubbed in some Finnabair Art Extravagance textured graphite paste ( I love this ) and then once dry I painted her all over with black gesso.

I chose my elements to add-on, but got carried away, so I didn’t take any pictures before painting, but if you look closely you can see most of them.

Starting with the top, I had a brown plastic lizard type creature and glued on some silver wings to his back, Finnabair metal flower on her arm, two silver metal flowers on her boobs, a Finnabair dragonfly, a hanging beaded earring, around the waist is a blue and silver bracelet.

On the bottom I added some more Finnabair metals, a large brad, paper clip, metal nut, another old earring, some beads, a spring, the cogs are made from kraft card and given and aged look.

Time to bring out the colour

I used Dylusions sprays, Colour Bloom sprays, Lindy Stamp Gang, and Indigo Blu metallics.

Here is the finished dragon
