Recycled flooring

Standard

Hi

I have been doing a little recycling this weekend.

I had some laminate flooring left over which Hubby very kindly cut to shape for me.

This side I have left untouched as it’s the back, the front I have covered with gesso and painted the edges with chalky paint.

I had some Disney princess papers to use up, so I have cut them out and glued them in place.

I Covered the princesses with glossy accents, and used Heartfelt creations leafy branch for the flowers and leaves.

I used distress inks to colour them and glued them into place.

Sleeping Beauty

Made for my grand-daughter Chloe, she was crafting with me and saw the papers, and asked if she could have one,

well nanny always says yes lol,

Hello visitors

Today I am sharing a mirror that I made for my mum as part of her Mothers day gift

It looks a pink here, but it is actually more lilac & purple

I cut out some embossed card using various embossing folders and glued them onto the mirror, then painted it with two colours of chalky paint.

I added some Inka gold and cosmic shimmer gilding wax to highlight some of the embossing.

Christmas Table Piece

Standard

Hi

Buying and wrapping presents, food shopping I thought I had finished and was all ready for Christmas. But no! I forgot my centre piece for my table, so I have had to make it and I have just finished!

I had a piece of log in the garden brushed it all off and sprayed it with a sealer ( I didn’t wants bugs on my table lol )

raw materials

I took a napkin planned for Christmas dinner and found a white candle, I got Hubby to drill me a hole for the candle, I used a sheet of thick white paper and some garden string.

I decorated the candle first, by cutting out desired pattern from the napkin, separated the layers and using only the printed piece. Then I heated up the a teaspoon and rubbed it over the napkin onto the candle, the wax melted into the napkin and set in place.

table piece

Taking my sheet of white paper, I sprayed it with stick and spray and laid the napkin onto it, then varnished it all over with a sealer and dried it with a heat tool. Then Using Heartfelt Creations Poinsettia die, cut out my flowers and shaped them with a ball tool.

Glued the garden string around the log added snow dust and glitter to the top.

napkin decoration

Then I added my flowers, leaves and gems.

Using an MDF coaster and mod podge I glued in place a black and white serviette, and once it was dry I coloured in the flowers, leaves and the word ‘home’ with silko paints.

Decoupage Christmas bottle

Standard

Hi

Well Christmas is nearly upon us, I have finished present shopping and wrapping, just have the dreaded food shop to fit in now.

I thought I would blog a bottle as I haven’t made one for a little while, I wanted to give it a Christmas look, and this is how it turned out.

decoupage Christmas bottle

I covered the bottle with two coats of white Gesso then painted it with white chalky paint.

I selected my serviette and tore out the bits I wanted to use then separated the tissue and glued it in place with Mod Podge.

Once dry I painted over the tissue with another coat of Mod Podge and let it dry.

I touched up with White chalky paint just around the edges of the serviette and then using a sponge, randomly dabbed on green chalky paint.

decoupage Christmas bottle 1

Once dry, I painted the whole bottle with a decoupage varnish.

Glued in place a Happy Christmas sentiment with Mod Podge and added a rosette with an Ivy print.

decoupage Christmas bottle 2

To finish off I added ribbon and a wooden tag.

Have a Merry Christmas
